German Mittelstand GCC Office Becomes Official Ecosystem Partner of the TASMU Accelerator
New Strategic Partnership Opens Direct Gateway for German Startups to Qatar's National Accelerator Program — Applications for Cohort 4 Now Open
Doha / Berlin, April 2026
The German Mittelstand GCC Office has been accepted as an official Ecosystem Partner of the TASMU Accelerator, one of Qatar's leading national innovation programs. This new strategic partnership creates a direct bridge between the German startup and innovation ecosystem and a central government-backed accelerator initiative in Qatar.
The TASMU Accelerator is an initiative of Qatar's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and part of the national TASMU Smart Qatar program. It supports international growth-stage startups with scalable technology solutions in entering the Qatari market and strengthening the country's digital innovation ecosystem. The program is embedded in the Qatar National Vision 2030 and Qatar's Digital Agenda 2030.
Cohort 4: Five Focus Sectors
Applications for the fourth cohort are now open, with a submission deadline of May 15, 2026. Cohort 4 focuses on five key sectors:
- Healthcare
- Environment
- Transportation
- Logistics
- Smart Cities
The six-month, fully virtual accelerator program targets growth-stage startups with demonstrated technical viability and initial market traction such as pilot projects or revenue. Importantly, the program is entirely equity-free — founders retain 100 percent of their company shares.
What the Program Offers
Participating startups gain access to a comprehensive package of support, including:
- Company setup and registration support in Qatar, including fast-track bank account opening
- Free office space and eligibility for Qatar's Golden Visa and housing program
- Mentoring from experienced industry leaders and entrepreneurs
- Specialized training programs, workshops, and invitations to international conferences and industry events
- Direct market access through Piloting Partners and Sector Custodians, enabling targeted sales conversations and pilot projects in Qatar
- A network of 50+ venture capital firms and access to local talent from leading Qatari universities
- Cash prizes of 200,000 QAR (~55,000 USD) for top-performing startups, sponsored by Cohort Champions Ooredoo and PwC Middle East
Proven Track Record
Since its launch, the TASMU Accelerator has supported over 75 startups selected from more than 2,200 applications by founders from 78 countries. The combined portfolio value stands at approximately 4 billion QAR. Startups have generated cumulative revenues exceeding 670 million QAR, and 40 companies have registered in Qatar. Cohort 3 alone achieved 40 percent revenue growth since program start and generated local sales opportunities worth over 330 million QAR.
Virtual Roadshow for German Startups
