German Start-up Pavilion Premieres at Web Summit Qatar
Record German Participation at Web Summit Qatar 2025
The German Start-up Pavilion, powered by The German Mittelstand GCC Office, was a central highlight of Web Summit Qatar 2025. As the organizer of the Pavilion, The German Mittelstand GCC Office led the largest German business delegation ever to attend a Web Summit globally — with over 100 founders, investors, and tech leaders from Germany taking part.
The Pavilion showcased Germany’s innovation strength across deep tech, AI, biotech, digital health, mobility, and fintech. Delegates engaged in high-level discussions with key Qatari institutions, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Qatar Financial Centre, the Qatar Investment Authority, and the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council.
Several strategic agreements were signed during the summit with prominent Qatari partners such as the Government Communications Office, Qatar Free Zones Authority, and Rheinmetall Barzan. These memoranda laid the groundwork for long-term cooperation in investment, technology transfer, and industrial innovation.
An official delegation from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) attended the summit and the Pavilion, underscoring the importance of the German-Qatari partnership at the government level.
The programme also featured contributions from German thought leaders in keynote sessions and panels. Two exclusive networking events — a reception at the German Ambassador’s residence and a joint event with Qatar Chamber and Fusion Group Holding — provided direct platforms for German startups to connect with investors, institutions, and private sector leaders in Qatar.
The German Start-up Pavilion, powered by The German Mittelstand GCC Office, reinforced Qatar’s position as a fast-emerging innovation hub and deepened the strategic collaboration between German SMEs and Qatari stakeholders.
